Hell can we talk about how a lot of official art never shows Adam in his human form? Why? Hasn’t he been through enough punishment as The Beast? Unless Belle is a closet furry and there’s something Disney isn’t telling us.
Let’s not forget that every time a character has been turned into an animal, it was to learn a lesson. Kuzco had to learn not to be selfish and vain, Kenai needed to learn how to see from someone else’s point of view, Naveen had to learn how to be responsible and self-sufficient, Tiana needed to learn that there’s more to life than hard work, and even the Beast/Adam had to learn not to be a rude selfish brat!
Not to mention that there are many other Disney films with non-white heroes who don’t turn into animals. Along with the five already mentioned there’s Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Jungle Book, Big Hero 6, and the upcoming Moana! Out of twelve movies, only three have non-white characters turn into animals!
